Trust Management for Information Flow
[PDF]
A fundamental problem in security is information flow between documents. In partcular, we are interested in providing a solution by which users can specify accesses to their information at a fine-granularity. Specifically, system administrators must be able to easily implement confidentiality and integrity models and enforce them.
We propose a flexible solution which allows users to specify policies which define the management of information flow. These policies are enforced using efficient enforcment mechanisms. We successfully applied such an approach to manage information flow between documents that are read using Xclients such as Xemacs.
